In 1978, Eli Reichman won first place in the feature and honorable mention in the picture story categories in the annual College Photographer of the Year contest and was selected for a summer internship at The Los Angeles Times. He stayed for a year.
A 1980 finalist in the William Randolph Hearst National Photojournalism Championship, Reichman was a portfolio selection by National Geographic Magazine for one of its three collegiate internships.
As photographer at The Kansas City Star, Reichman was a member of the Pulitzer Prize winning staff for photographs of the Hyatt Regency skywalk collapse. While completing his Liberal Arts studies at the University of Kansas he was awarded NPPA’s Ehrenreich scholarship and as a staff photographer with The Tulsa Tribune he won the Oklahoma Press Association’s Picture of the Year.
Since 1986 Reichman has worked with many international publications, including: The Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, NY Times, USA Today, NPR, The Chronicles of Higher Education and Philanthropy, Forbes, BusinessWeek, Fortune, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, Time Magazine, Smithsonian, LeMonde and Der Spiegel. Reichman has photographed ad campaigns and annual reports for several multinational corporations, including: H&R Block, American Century Investments, Harley Davidson, Hallmark, Wal-Mart, Ford Foundation, ConAgra, IBM, Golden Harvest Seed, John Deere, Soft Power Health Uganda, Advent Health Shawnee Mission, Bayer and Pioneer Seed.
In addition to his documentary, editorial and corporate work, Reichman produces multimedia campaigns for NGO's in Asia and Africa.
Reichman’s photographs have been used on several magazine and book covers and his Weston, MO tobacco photographs were featured in the Communication Arts photography annual.
